Fifths Cafe is run by Fifths Collective LLC, a mobile matcha cafe based in Chicago, Illinois. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
The short version: we collect only what we need to answer your booking inquiry or send you the newsletter you asked for. We do not sell your information to anyone.
What we collect
Only what you type into one of our two forms. We don't collect anything else about you.
If you send a booking inquiry, we receive:
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it — it's optional
- Details about your event: the date, the type, rough guest count, location, and anything you write in the message box
If you sign up for the newsletter, we receive:
- Your name and email address
Why we collect it
- Booking inquiries — so we can reply to you, quote your event, and plan the cart around it.
- Newsletter — so we can tell you where the cart is parked next and what's new on the menu. Nothing else.
We don't use your information to build a profile on you, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
We use a few outside services to run this site. They handle your information only to provide their service to us, and they're bound by their own privacy terms.
- Mailchimp stores our newsletter list and sends the emails.
- Formspree delivers booking inquiries from the website to our inbox.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this page, which means your browser requests them from Google when the page loads.
Beyond that, we share your information only if the law requires it. We never sell it, rent it, or trade it.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run analytics on it. If that changes, we'll update this page first.
How long we keep it
Booking inquiries stay in our email for as long as we might reasonably need them — to plan your event, and afterwards for our own records. Newsletter details stay on the list until you unsubscribe.
Getting off the list
Every newsletter we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off, immediately, no questions. You can also just email us and we'll remove you.
Your choices
Email us at fifthscollective@gmail.com and we will, at no cost to you:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete it entirely
Just email from the address you gave us, so we know it's really you.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
